Abstract

This article presents two new records of Sthenarus rotermundi (Scholtz, 1847) in Poland, i.e., Warsaw (Mazowiecka Lowland), and Brzeg (Lower Silesia), with a summary on distribution of this species in our country. Detailed photos of several morphological characters of this species are included, namely the colour pattern of hind femur, shape of the head and tylus, hemelytral pilosity, and a shape of aedeagus. Moreover, the validity of some morphological characters used in widely available keys for separation of S. rotermundi and Salicarius roseri (Herrich-Schaeffer, 1838) are discussed. Both, morphological illustrations and remarks, are presented in order to make the identification of mentioned taxa easier and reliable.
